On a working cattle ranch, one daily chore an artist would want to depict is bringing the broke horses in so the cowboys can draw from them, swapping tired horses for fresh ones.
Here they are bringing the horses they caught in the pasture and putting them in the rope corral, then our to gather the cattle for branding. Some of the horses are trying to get into the lead while others are content to follow. My intent was to capture and portray the energy, the strength, and the spirit of the event. - Chris Owen |
