Kimerlee Curyl has dedicated her career to the magnificent wild horses that roam the plains of our great country. Curyl has an amazing ability to capture the pure essense of the animals. This release showcases the independent nature and innate sense of freedom reflected in every move the horse makes. With a wind-whipped mane and flying tail, Mateo majestically rules his domain.
Mateo means "Gift from God." The artist says, "Spending five days with Mateo out on the land was the closest I have ever felt to God.....everything was perfect while immersed in his world. The herd with which Mateo lived was over 300 strong. Shortly after I left, most of the herd was quietly removed, leaving only about 30 horses to roam the thousands of acres of land. Many of the herd's families were separated in the round-up. My hope is that Mateo was left to be the good leader I observed. These amazing creatures are gifts.....they deserve no less than our respect."
