Delores David
Born in North Dakota, Delores David moved to Michigan for her grade school years. Her first exposure to visual arts came on school field trips to Detroit area museums where she was deeply impressed with classical artwork. Even at this young age, lessons of perspective and reflected light took hold.
From the ages of 14 to 22, Delores lived with her family in Montana, which her mother and the majority of her brothers and sisters still call home. She and her husband, Jake, newly married, moved to Oregon in 1952 where they settled and raised 3 sons in Oakridge. It was only after her sons left home in 1978 that Delores took her first community college art classes and began painting. She discovered she especially enjoyed painting portaits, children and wildlife.
Since then, she has won numerous awards and sold paintings and limited edition prints such as the captivating "Colors of Peru" throughout the United States and as far away as Europe.
